Sealing Sides Using Marine Snaps

Unless you have aluminum or vinyl siding, the best way to seal to a wall or column is
with our stainless steel marine snaps. The female snap is fastened to any top, side, or bottom binding of a curtain panel in about 2 minutes using a fastening tool that we will provide. The male snap is on a 5/8" inch screw stud which can be screwed into wood surfaces, or into masonry, by using a $4 masonry drill bit and plastic insert casing to receive the screw.

Marine Snaps

  • Punch a small hole between the double stitching of the binding
  • Insert button post through hole and overlay the female socket
  • 5 firm hammer strikes using flaring tool will lock button post around socket
  • Snap the binding to the male snap screwed into your wall or column
  • Space every vertically every 3-4 ft when securing side binding
  • Best used with fiberglass rods for a clean edge and great seal

What if my columns have an unusual shape with no straight edge?

What if my porch ceiling is taller than I can reach to use snaps?

So easy, we'll let Bella show you how

If possible, try to position snaps facing inward such that wind pushes the curtain into the snap. This is better than snaps facing out where the wind will try
to separate the snap.

Bella is the youngest member of our family buisness. While she simply drives the post through the binding,
we recommend punching a small hole first and then inserting the post.

What you don't see is that she whacked her finger with
the hammer in this video, but managed to keep a brave face... until the moment the director hollered "Cut!"

Fiberglass rods

Fiberglass rods make for a clean edge on all side bindings whether you are creating a doorway or sealing to a wall or column.

Rods also distribute the load on either magnet doorways or marine snapped sides making the attchments more efficient.

Fiberglass rods are often overlooked in the ordering process. We recommend 2 fiberglass rods per panel for ALL panels ordered.
